Saturday on the Cape

We started out the week with no plans for the weekend. We just wanted to get lots of stuff done around the house. We bought a new washer and dryer and I was dying to have them installed, but as the week went on and we realized that my dads best friend from like a million years ago (sorry dad!) and his family were coming down, we decided that we had to go down to see them for at least one day! Saturday was going to be the better of the two days, so Saturday it was! When we got down, we hung out for a little bit catching up, then we walked down to the dock to see the boys off for a fishing trip. We took Cameron and Avery down in the wagon (and the Bumbo) and it worked out well! How cute is that?

When they were out, we decided to bring the kids to a more kid friendly beach down the street for a little swimming. By more "kid friendly" I mean more sand, less waves and gets deeper much slower! Cameron used his PuddleJumper, which is an awesome life jacket-type thing that helps toddlers to learn to swim. Its much less constraining then an actual life jacket, with a bit more support then those little blow up muscle arm things. He loved it and so did we!!

This was how Avery spent the couple of hours on the beach! She slept the whole time!! It was a little chilly! And this is his "I know I'm cute but want to be shy about it" face. Love.
After the beach, we went back to the house and had a cookout and some more visiting time with the family. It's always fun to stay at the Cape House, but was actually a little more relaxing to just go for the day! We knew we didn't have a ton to pack, didn't have to clean up since they were all staying, and knew we had Sunday to finish up out stuff that we wanted to get done over the weekend.

She loves her mommy!
I have a busy week ahead of me, with a bunch of appointments, so a nice, slow weekend was what I needed. Lets hope for the best, right??
