Easter Weekend

This was supposed to be a really, really fun weekend. I mean awesome weekend! But wouldn't you know, a stomach bug infested our toddler!

We went and saw the Easter bunny on Thursday night. Cam fell asleep on the way home and continued to sleep once we got home. At about 9:30, he started throwing up. Grrreat... So Mark spent the night with the sick one on the couch downstairs, while I tended to the newbie upstairs. The next day, he got sick a few more times, but by the afternoon he was fine. Through the whole thing, his mood never really changed. He was acting as if nothing was wrong, even cleaning up after himself getting sick. Thanks bud! Since he was feeling better, we went to Marks parents house to celebrate Easter that night. He did fine, we had fun and he had a good night. The next day, we laid low just to be sure he was better, then went in town to see the Big Apple circus with ours friends. We actually left Avery home with my parents, which was a first! Cam had a BLAST at the circus! He loved seeing all the acts and was clapping for all of them. I started to tear up when I saw him having so much fun! He's such a big boy now! He can actually DO things now!

We thought everything was all better with his belly, but that night he got sick. In our bed. Yay. So Easter morning he was pretty grumpy and tired so Mark suggested I bring Avery to brunch with my family and visit with everyone. Fine by me! So thats what we did. I got to dress her up and she got to see my dad's side of the family. The weather was beautious and by the time we got home, Cam was feeling better. We went for a long family walk then did our Easter baskets. He's been good ever since that morning, so keep your fingers crossed! Next weekend is my dad's birthday, so he can see everyone then!!

Cookies and the Easter Bunny

The littles had a busy day today! Cameron went to his "Auntie" Danielle's house to play for a bit while I went to my 6 week post partum appointment (at 9 weeks, oops!) According to Cam, he had a blast! He loves his "Daniel!" After that, we went home and my best friend Steph came over with her littles. We sat around and talked for a bit, then decided to let Cam and Ashlyn decorate some Easter sugar cookies. Lets just say, Cam was not in a good mood, until the food came out. Then he simmered down for a few. He had to, it took a lot of concentration to get that frosting on there! And the sprinkles! Decorating took about 10 minutes, then he was done after one bite! Oh well!

After dinner with met up at the Bass Pro Shop with Mimi, Tina and Ryan to meet the Easter Bunny! I had been talking about the bunny for a few days to get Cameron excited and not be scared of him. And he did awesome! He actually ran right up to him, sat down and started petting his hand. It was cute! We put Avery on his lap and got some pics. When it was time to get off, Cam almost started crying! He really liked that bunny! For now at least!!! He was out cold before we got home, which was at 7:30. That is super early for him!! Only one kid left to get to sleep!

The Big 3-0!!!

So yesterday was the day! I turned...wait for it....30 years old!! I can't even believe that I'm not in my twenties anymore! Ugh! Its not that I feel old, by any means! It's more like I don't feel that the number matches me. I still feel 26-ish. But for a 30 year old (sigh) I feel like I've done pretty good! I'm married, own a house, and have two of the most perfect little kids ever!! Those are great accomplishments, in my opinion!! Hopefully, the time will start slowing down so I can take a breath and appreciate this life I have made for myself more! It seems to be flying by, and that makes me sad. So so sad! For my gift, Mark bought me a new lens for my camera. A beautiful, 75mm 1.8 prime. So hopefully adding that to my bag will help to capture these moments that whisk by and leave me with beautiful pauses in time that I can stare at when life does start to slow down. Until then, call me the "Mamarazzi!" My kids are going to hate me!!
