Baby Update!

Ok, I need to think up a nickname for the new one, since we still refer to Cam as the baby. And it will be that way for as long as we can!! In ultrasounds, it's kinda looking like a Teddy Graham, so maybe? We'll see!

Anyway, last week I went in for the precautionary cerclage that we are hoping will keep me off of bed rest this time around. With Cameron, they didn't notice anything wrong until the 20th week, at which time he was pretty much getting ready to arrive. So they stitched me up and put me on bed rest for the last half of the pregnancy. Due to the surgery, pregnancy and bed rest, I developed DVT, or a blood clot, at week 22 and was put on blood thinners. So we started those this time around to be proactive. Hopefully all of these precautionary measures will help to keep things going well! Now, I'll do anything it takes to get a healthy baby, don't get me wrong! But giving myself the shots kinda sucks and recovering from the surgery wasn't that fun! The spinal took a real toll on my stomach and I was sick for a few days after, not to mention my back! But I'm not complaining. Just not the funnest few days! I did get to hear the heart beat before and after and things sounded great. I am 14 weeks now, and the babe is about the size of a lemon. I have an ultrasound at 16 weeks to check the cerclage and I'm hoping they will be able to tell me the sex. If not, I go in on Sept 22nd for the Big One!

Any predictions??

So that's all the new news with that! I haven't been doing much of anything besides recovering, so nothing exciting to report! Hopefully this weekend well have some late summer fun with some great pictures to post!!

Guess what??

So here's our new surprise:

We found out back in June, but being the superstious person that I am, I've been waiting to tell for ever. I'm 13 weeks now and we are due in February, the 20th to be exact! Mark's birthday is the 21st, so that was pretty funny!! We told my family by making Cam a "Big Brother" t-shirt. Of course, he has no idea what's going on, but we like to pretend that he is excited to be a big brother! See, look how happy he is??

Mini Vacaition Weekend!

So this past weekend we packed up our little family and drove up North to New Hampshire to Lake Winnipasaukee for the weekend. We were attending Mark's cousin Dave's wedding to the adorably sweet Meg. We drove up Friday morning and hit a little traffic, but not to bad. Cam did pretty good stuck in the car for three hours. Nothing a few snacks couldn't handle!! We were staying a a hotel a few miles from the lake with my in-laws and by BIL Matt and his wife Katie. Seperate rooms, of course. The hotel was about a mile from an outlet mall, score! The rest of the family went to the rehearsal dinner that night, but we decided to go to dinner with Aunt Dori at the lake. It was so much fun. We ate on the water, laughed the whole time, spent some time walking on the docks, laughed some more, then met up with some more family for drinks and ice cream. It was truly well spent time!!

The next day was the wedding. In the morning we went to the outlets, then dropped Cameron off with a nanny at the hotel. I was super nervous about this, seeing as it was a stranger that neither he nor I had ever met, but according to her, they had a great time. She said "he was a doll" and they spent time walking outside and had dinner at a waterfall near by. Sounds like a date! We picked him up at around 7:00 and brought him to the wedding for a little bit of dancing. To cute.

And the wedding!! Oh my goodness, it was beautiful! It was at a place called The Inn at Church Landing and it was gorgeous! The weather was perfect and the lake in the background just made it that much more pretty! We had great food, fun with the family and loved watching Dave and Meg get married, finally!!

The next day, we went to Meg's parents lake house on Black Cat Island on the lake. It was adorable and fun with swimming, boat rides and BBQ. Beautifully calm and just what was needed after a busy wedding weekend. One cute thing were Meg's nieces and nephews, all who are a few years older then Cam, spent some time catching sunfish and putting them into a big bucket. Cam was obsessed!! I think right now, fish are one of his favorite things in the world and he spent forever reaching into the bucket saying "fish", or "thiss", with the Cammy lisp, over and over again. He loved it!

It was a great and prefect weekend that we did not want to end. We miss spending our summer vacations on the fresh water like we use to before we had the Cape house, and the baby. Maybe soon, but we are finishing our vacation back on the Cape in a few days through the weekend. Loving summer right now!
