"Mommy, read!"

From the beginning, we've tried to cram a book or two into our busy night time routine. Usually, he'd sit through it. Sometimes he'd sit quietly and listen and other times he'd flip the pages himself, in no apparent order, but "reading" none the less. Lately, though, he's been wanting to read during his play time. He'll go to his box of books, take one out, then come back and sit on my lap, waiting eagerly for me to start reading. I think this is a great step for him! We know he likes to be active, but we never really knew if he could sit still and still be entertained by something like a book. Today, he brought me 14 books to read him, hoping up onto my lap for me to read each time, them scooting back down to pick out a new one when we were through. It took a loong time! I am very glad that I like reading, too!!

Oh and as you can see, I didn't take these pictures. I try to get in one here and there, but my dear husband has a different aspect on photography then me. As long as he person is in the frame, its a good picture. As you can see, this does not always work! Next time, hunny!

Broccoli=YUCK!

Tonight for dinner Cameron had Aunt Annie's, chicken and broccoli. He loves his chicken, and loves his shells even more, but the broccoli, well he just wasn't having it! It was pretty funny to watch him. He'd put it in his mouth, then when he realizes it's a veggie (God, no!!) he'd stick his tongue out and bat at his tongue until the broccoli fell off. I decided it was a good chance for a picture, so Mark tried to get him to eat another little piece, but he was terrified! Just look at his face! You would think we were doing something awful to him, but no. Just trying to get him to eat his healthy food! Now on the "no way will I eat that" list are string beans, broccoli and cucumber. I wonder if green has anything to do with it.

Day 67
Juice, now that's better!
The next day, Cameron had fun sharing his paci with Grover. I just love, love, LOVE my boy!

Daddy's 47" dream

So after begging for months, no years, I finally gave in and agreed to let Mark pick out a new television for our living room. As painful as it is to admit, we are tv people. We have our shows that we follow and like to put in a dvd, when time (and baby) permit. There aren't many times during the day that the tv isn't on, even just for background noise. Part of my agreeing to a new tv was that I would be allowed to pick out a new piece of furniture for the tv to live on. And I wanted something nice. So today was spent first at a few furniture stores, then at the Sony store watching Mark pick out his new baby. The model that he wanted was out of stock so the sales women gave him the next model up, for the price of the original. Score!

Here is Cameron helping daddy set up everything:

Warm, Sunny Day

Or at least warm for March. In New England. It was 50 degrees! I couldn't believe it! It snowed yesterday and today was warm enough to go outside without coats!! In honor of this awesome weather, we met up with our friends and brought our little ones to the park. Apparently, on a day like today, everyone else had the same idea as us. It was pretty packed!

We started out at the petting zoo area. Of course we were the smart family who forgot to bring their own treats to feed the animals. But thankfully, a nice women stopped and gave Cameron and Ashlyn each a big carrot. They had fun (but were a bit nervous) feeding the goats.

After the animals we walked through a little butterfly park (yeah, no butterflies yet) and ended at the playground. Cam flipped with excitement when he saw the swings, but of course we had to wait awhile before he had a chance. He had a blast when it was his turn, but like anything else, after 5 minutes he was done and ready for something new. There were just so many distractions! He was having so much fun watching everyone around him. He was babbling up a storm! I really wish I new what he was saying! He obviously liked what he was seeing!

Day 65
Later that night, while the kids were playing, Cam ran up to me, said "mama" clear as day and gave me a huge hug. My heart melted! I think he finally knows that I am "mama" and its not just a word that he knows how to say. My sweat boy. He amazes me more and more every day. :)

Friday Morning Cartoons

He was watching The Wiggles after breakfast. Does this make me a bad mother? In my defense, it's the only TV show that will hold his attention for more then 2 minutes. I take every second of quiet time that I can get. Without the wiggles (and sippy cups) I don't think I would have a minute to my self during the day! He really gets enthralled by the show when it is on. Just look at his face in this picture! Nothing, not even mommy with the camera, could bother him! Just why does it have to be The Wiggles? Sigh.

Playroom Pics

As you may have guessed, we spend alot of time in here. It keeps Mark and I sane by having a room where Cameron can reek havoc on anything he sees, while not harming any of our "big kid toys". Most things that belong to Cameron live in here. His toys stay in here. His books stay in here. And yes, even his new flat screen TV and DVD player have a home in the playroom. (Why do I feel ashamed to say that?)

Because we spend so much time in here, the passed three days pics have all come out of the playroom. On Monday, I walked in to Cam playing oh-so-happily with his stacking cups. Why is it that babies will play for hours (well that's an exaggeration!) with a toy that cost $4, but when you put an $80 toy in front of them, they look at it for a minute, then never want to touch it again?
Day 60

Tuesday, while playing on the floor with Cameron, I attempted to take a "mommy and me" pic. I laid on the floor next to Cam and held the camera above us. This, as you can guess, did not work. Not a single frame came out with both of us fully in it, looking halfway decent. I did like this picture, though. Cameron has a somewhat devious look on his face. Could have been because he was attempting to pick my nose. Oh, what a funny boy.
Day 61

Finally, on Tuesday I walked in to the playroom to Cam and his favorite stuffy, Wolfie, looking out the window at the gross, rainy weather. He was talking to him in Cammy-talk. I swear he knows what he is saying, I just can't tell yet! It made me want to cry. My little baby, playing on his own with his little friend. Even using his imagination! They really do grow up before your eyes!
